FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

What people ask before they try Hydra Vision. Something missing? Ask us at customer@hydravision.ai.

What is Hydra Vision?

A grid Expert Advisor (EA) for MetaTrader 5 with an online platform around it. The EA runs three engines: PCL (Profit Closes Loss) closes losing positions against profitable ones as the grid runs, SmartEntry decides when the next position opens, and GridSense records every decision with its reason. The platform builds setfiles from guided questions, analyses every grid in a backtest, measures live accounts the same way, fingerprints each configuration and watches your terminals with Hydra Agent. The overview has the detail.

How is it different from a traditional grid EA?

A traditional grid opens positions at fixed steps and waits for one averaged exit for all of them, so risk grows with every step. Hydra Vision's PCL engine closes a profitable position together with a losing one as the grid runs, booking a small profit and making the grid smaller, so reducing risk no longer depends on one exit. SmartEntry decides whether each next position should open now or wait, and every decision is recorded with its reason.

Which trading platforms are supported?

MetaTrader 5 only. There is no MetaTrader 4 version.

Does Hydra Vision give investment advice or trade for me?

No. Hydra Vision is software you configure and run on your own MetaTrader 5 account. We do not give investment advice, execute trades on your behalf or hold your funds, and we make no guarantee of performance. Trading involves risk and you can lose money.

Is there a free trial?

Yes: 14 days, with no credit card. The trial covers the EA on demo accounts and in the MT5 Strategy Tester, the Setfile Builder, Rules wizard and Asset Profiler, and every backtest tool. Real accounts and live trading, Hydra Agent and Live Analytics need a Subscription. Compare the plans.

How much does it cost?

A Subscription is €49 per month including VAT, with one live account and every feature. Each additional live account is €29 per month. There is no annual plan yet.

Do you provide ready-made setfiles or guaranteed results?

We do not guarantee results, and that includes any setfile. The Setfile Builder has a Rules wizard that builds a setfile from your answers, explaining the reasoning behind each question, and the help guides cover every setting so you can adapt a configuration to your own account and risk tolerance.

What can I trade with it?

Any symbol your broker offers in MetaTrader 5, in principle. Every asset behaves differently, so test it first: the Asset Profiler shows spread, swap and costs for a symbol at your broker, and backtests show how a configuration behaved on it.

Do I need a VPS?

For live trading we strongly recommend one, because the EA needs a permanent, stable connection to your broker. Many brokers offer a free or discounted VPS with a funded account.

How much capital do I need?

We do not advise on account size. A grid generally needs more margin than a system that holds one position at a time. Use the free trial to test on the account size you plan to fund.

What are a Strategy Print and a Tuning Print?

Two fingerprints of a setfile. The Strategy Print covers the settings that decide what the strategy does, such as the grid type, volume strategy, entry rules and sessions. The Tuning Print covers how hard it works, such as step sizes, volumes, targets and risk stops. Two setfiles with the same two prints are the same configuration, whatever they are called.

What does Hydra Agent do?

Hydra Agent runs beside MetaTrader on your VPS. It keeps Live Analytics current, shows every VPS, terminal and chart in one place with alerts when something stops, fetches logs when you ask, and carries your commands (suspend, wind down, pause new levels, close a side) to the EA. It never places, changes or closes a trade itself; the EA decides and answers. It needs a Subscription and a live account.

Can I check a configuration someone else is running?

If they publish it. A published Hydra Fingerprint page shows the Strategy Print and Tuning Print, the settings the owner chose to disclose, and whether the configuration runs on a verified live account. A published live account page shows the Configuration Timeline of what ran and when, and links to the owner's independent Myfxbook or FXBlue record.

How do updates work?

New EA versions are published in your dashboard and you install them in MetaTrader 5 when you choose. Your licence is unaffected. If a release changes settings, the Setfile Builder tells you whether your setfiles can be upgraded. Hydra Agent updates itself.

See it on a demo account. The trial is free for 14 days, with no credit card.
